Children & Youth
From weekly Bible stories in the nursery to the Baccalaureate service for our seniors, Parkway Hills is focused on developing our youngest members as they grow and mature.
CHILDREN
We don't just provide ministries for our children, we strive to be in ministry with our children. We offer age appropriate sunday school beginning with preschool (a nursery is provided for all those 2 and under), children's moment during worship, a time apart during worship following children's moment led by parent volunteers for our kids age 3 through Kindergarten, a 10 week fall and spring Wednesday evening opportunity, and seasonal events.

Bible 101 class for our 3rd and 4th Graders

TWEENS
Tweens are invited to be part of The Bridge as they walk together from our children’s ministry to our youth ministry. This cohort-based group participates in a Sunday School class tailored to their development, retreats, and fellowship events. The Bridge goes through our confirmation program as their final step before moving to the youth ministry and having the opportunity to be confirmed in church membership.

YOUTH
Our youth ministry is centered on the three core values developed in conversation with our students: asking hard questions to learn about God, reaching others with what we’ve been given, and loving everyone we meet both near and far.
School-year Schedule
SUNDAY
Sunday school from 9:30-10:30am in the Youth Suite; we begin the morning together before splitting into middle and high school age discussion groups. Many of our students also serve on our broadcast team for the 10:45 worship service!
Engage, 5:30-7pm in the Youth Suite unless otherwise noted for a special event. We share a meal, play games, and dive into the week’s lesson. For students looking to engage their faith and community, PHUMC is where to be on Sunday nights.
WEDNESDAY
Currently our church is spending time purposefully getting reconnected across age groups after the disruption of the pandemic. We’re currently discerning the next steps in restarting these gatherings. To keep up with our Wednesday plans, keep an eye on our church-wide newsletter and social media.
