The Men's Ministry at PHUMC is committed to bringing men together in service and fellowship. Our ministry hosts a different activity each month. This variety allows us to participate in a good blend of volunteer projects and fun activities.
This year, our ministry has hosted a roundtable discussion on domestic violence, cooked a pancake supper for the congregation, helped with SpringFest, enjoyed a cook-out and participated in a variety of service projects.
Whether you are a member of the church, a regular visitor, or a guest, men of all ages are welcome to join us as your schedule allows. To be added to the PHUMC Men's Ministry email group or to learn more about the Men's Ministry at PHUMC, contact Brandon Jones at email@example.com or 228-326-7649
We have a limited number of great looking PHUMC T-shirts and Men's Ministry T-shirts available in Adult Large and Extra Large, designed by Jessica Wood. These will sell out quickly, but we are taking orders! Please let us know how many shirts you would like, and in what sizes - we will be ordering more soon. All shirts are $15. Call the office: 601-856-2733 or Order Here.
The PHUMC Men's Ministry supports the efforts of the Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence. We encourage all men to go to www.mcadv.org and Take the Pledge! Challenge stereotypes, call out sexist attitudes, stand up to domestic violence, speak out if you hear excuses for violence or victim blaming, spread the word that violence is never an option, and do not stand by in silence.
Men's Ministry Morning Group
Every Thursday from 7:15-8:00 am, men of all ages are invited to join us as Brandon Jones leads a time of study, fellowship, and prayer. (Students are welcome!) We meet at Panera Bread in Renaissance at Colony Park, (1000 Highland Colony Parkway). Join us to share inspiration, encouragement and accountability.
Men's Monthly Breakfast Program
On the first Sunday of each month, our men gather in The Garden at PHUMC at 7:30 am for breakfast, fellowship, and a program provided by a special visiting guest.
Bunk Bed Construction
In 2013, our church provided fifteen sets of bunk beds for children in Madison County who did not have beds or had insufficient bedding. In 2014, we built twenty-five sets of bunk beds! As a church family, we plan to continue to build and supply safe comfortable bedding to those in need right here in our neighborhood! Here's how you can help:
- Talk to your Sunday school class, small group, or family about sponsoring a bed for $300.
- Contact Kent Barrett or Bill Flynn to sign up to help construct beds, or to help deliver beds: firstname.lastname@example.org
- Talk to Cari Brown about donating or shopping for bedding: email@example.com or 601.946.9001
Thank you for considering this important service opportunity,
Men's Ministry Chairman
