If you’re looking for an Adult Sunday School class, let us help you find your place at Parkway Hills.
The Open Doors, Pathfinders, and Discovery classes are using the UMC International Lesson quarterly. All classes encourage open and honest dialogue about the lessons, and how they can be applied to daily life. The Fellowship class is studying the Bible from beginning to end, one book at a time. Grace class is exploring faith and reason. The Bridges class is working through "The Screwtape Letters" by C. S. Lewis. All of these classrooms are in the educational building, except for Open Doors, which meets on the 2nd floor of the Worship Center.
Feel free to try a few different studies, and find the class that is right for you. Call the church office for more information: 601-856-2733.
This semester at Parkway Hills, our Adults are studying Religion in America on Wednesday nights. Harry Gilmer has written a book providing a broad overview of the history of religion in America called, "The Boisterous Sea of Liberty". Harry will lead this class, using one chapter of his book for each week's session. Segments from the PBS series, "God in America" will also be used to provide material for discussion. The class will look at how and why particular religious groups came to America, as well as major events in religious development, religious liberty, and tolerance. While not ignoring the divisions that have occurred in American religion, the emphasis will be upon the main things that bind us together and the thread of religious liberty that is a unique aspect of American history. Join us on Wednesday nights from 6:15 - 7:15 pm.
The Women's Ministry plans to make 2015 the year we read through the W H O L E Bible. We are using the 2015 Guilt-Free Bible Reading Plan. It will only take about 15-30 minutes a day, but it could change your life forever. Meet us in the Hope Classroom at the top of the stairs in the Education Building from 6:15 - 7:15 pm each Wednesday night and we will share what God is teaching us. Don't worry if you can't make it on Wednesday nights; do your reading at home and connect with us through our facebook group. The important thing is to just get started reading the Word!
